Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012: The real Next Practices for Business Intelligence
As I told you in my previous blog, we just returned from Microsoft’s Convergence 2011 in Atlanta, and we were really blown away by what we saw with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012, and the direction of Microsoft and the Dynamics product stack. As promised, I want to take you on a deeper dive on some of the areas we found so exciting. The first of these, and what I see as perhaps the most impactful to our clients, is Business Intelligence.
Convergence 2011 Report
I just returned from Convergence 2011 in Atlanta and it was outstanding!! We came away even more excited about the direction Microsoft is going with Dynamics AX 2012 which is scheduled to be released for general availability in August 2011. The theme of the Dynamics team was to make Dynamics AX 2012 Powerful, Simple, and Agile. While these could easily have become buzzwords, what we saw was that the Dynamics development team really took this direction to heart and we were shown many examples of how this approach was incorporated into the product. Mike and I attended a number of the sessions and met with several Microsoft executives as well as some of our key partners and we cannot wait to spread the word about this great new product. I’ll talk here about just a few of the highlights… Later I will go into more depth on each of these as well as other cool new topics. So stay tuned!!

Three Scenarios When Two-Tier ERP Should Be Considered
If you are a large national or multinational organization specializing in production and distribution of your product and have deployed SAP ERP as your corporate financial application in your headquarters and some of your larger operations, you may have found that SAP ERP is not the best fit for some of your smaller entities.
MS Dynamics Convergence 2010; Atlanta, GA, April 24-27
We just returned from this year’s Convergence Conference in Atlanta. WOW! As first-timers at this Microsoft Dynamics partner conference, all four (Rick Steber, Mark Stevens, Tom Erdle and myself) of us were completely impressed with this event. It is the best industry conference I’ve ever attended. It was focused, informative, interesting and FUN. High energy all around this event…
