Microsoft has invested heavily in integration and web services, yet these areas of the application remain powerfully simple.
Any area of the program can be accessed through web services, which widens the reach of your application, including to mobile platforms.
More than 90 web services are shipped out of the box, double that of AX 2009. AX 2012 also makes it easy to create your own web services, without having to write a lot of code.
Web services in AX 2012 are completely built on .Net 4, and are WS Star standards compliant, which ensures interoperability to other platforms.
The Integration framework in AX 2012 has 2 concepts, inbound ports and outbound ports. This is down from 17 in AX 2009 which of course means it’s simple. It’s also easier to maintain.
Watch and see how easy it is to add an inbound port without any middleware and without writing any integration code!
AX 2012 Integration and Web Services… More powerful, yet much simpler.
